Find & Fix: Why Compliance Matters More Than Ever

The Find & Fix Trustmark Update initiative, led by TrustMark and supported by DESNZ, is designed to identify and remediate non-compliant installations (EWI) under ECO4 and GBIS schemes. While this protects consumers, it also places greater responsibility on installers and retrofit coordinators to ensure PAS 2030 and PAS 2035 compliance.

What Does Find & Fix Trustmark Update Mean for Installers?

- Comprehensive Audits: TrustMark audits now cover the entire property, not just the flagged measure. Every detail must meet PAS standards.

- Non-Conformity Fees: If an audit finds major or minor non-compliances, fees apply—£395 + VAT per property, plus admin charges for re-checks.

- Remediation Deadlines: CAT 1 health and safety issues must be made safe within 24 hours; other NCs within 8 weeks.

- Evidence Requirements: Installers must provide clear photographic and documentary evidence of remedial work, often including video walkthroughs.

- Sanctions for Non-Compliance: Failure to remediate or pay fees can lead to TrustMark sanctions, impacting your ability to work on funded schemes.

Why This Matters

Under ECO4 and other funding schemes, compliance isn’t optional—it’s essential. Missing documentation, incorrect designs, or poor evidence can lead to costly delays and reputational damage. If a non-compliance arises within a project containing EWI, the RC has to pay the £395+vat, and in most cases will re-coupe this from the installer plus £50 for each time the project is rechecked once evidence is uploaded to Trustmark.
