What is Annual Bill Savings (ABS)?

Under ECO4, the target is based on Annual Bill Savings (ABS), and the project as a whole gets Annual Bill Savings (ABS) points. The points relate to the starting and finishing EPR band rating and the floor area of the property. These project ABS points then have a value in pounds depending on the type of measures installed.

How much money are ABS points worth?

The ECO4 funder will pay an agreed amount in £££ paid per ABS point. How much is actually paid depends on the terms you have with the ECO4 funder.

Approximate £/ABS

  • Projects with no solid wall insulation being installed get between £16 -£18/ABS.
  • Projects with solid wall insulation being installed get between £22 -£24/ABS.
  • Rural areas within Scotland and Wales can get up to 35% uplift.
  • Plus up to 20% uplift for an innovation measure.

What are innovation measures within ECO4?

Innovation measures are energy efficient measures that are unique and innovative that may have greater benefits than the more standard products or systems that are installed.

Innovation measures could be:

  • Charging electric storage heaters from solar PV during the day.
  • Smart TRVs that know when people are in the same room as the radiator and adjust the radiator temperature accordingly.
  • EWI that is affixed to the wall in an innovative way that different than other installers do it.

How are Uplifts calculated in ECO4?

Uplifts are based on partial project scores.
